A Letter

A letter from Vikas to the readers urging them to take on their challenges fearlessly and sharing their stories with him.

Dear Readers,

My world, rather the one I surround myself with has been quite simple. It consists of my friends, family and work-colleagues. In the past few years my zeal for fitness has brought me closer to many people. And, when I decided to climb the Everest, many more interesting people became known to me. However, this time when I started my journey to climb to the top of Everest, I decided to share my thoughts, experiences and a little of my world with you, dear readers. And, I now realise that my world has expanded multi-fold.

How amazing it is, when you can share your greatest experience and feel like you have expanded. Sharing, I believe is strength. When we share, we learn and we grow. What I may know or realise becomes known to you through my words and what a gift it is to be able to build these connections and nurture them.

So, as I finish my story of Everest I feel a bit overwhelmed by it all. I have conquered my extra-ordinary dream. I have climbed the Everest. And now, I wish to reach out to all of you - to know and learn about your extra-ordinary dreams, your personal Everest. Perhaps, I may be able to give some advice. Even if I don’t, sharing creates these connections that makes us a community. And how wonderful it would be to become a community of mad dreamers.

The last few weeks has been nothing short of a life-changing experience. Needless to say, I have been changed by it. To be out there, in the death-zone a breath away from death, one realises that life is beautiful and precious. It needs nurturing, care and sharing.

I have consciously made efforts to nurture my body and mind. My diet is still on and I do take my health-supplements on time. Being a fitness freak, my work-out regime hasn’t changed even one bit since I returned from the top of the world. Why should it, there is always something else, something greater that becomes a dream and I would love to go on another quest, chase another mountain and conquer it. It takes strength to dream big. And, climbing the Everest has made me realise that my strength lay with me all along, it was only a matter of harnessing it.

And, more importantly, I realised the strength of my spirit. If one has the will-power, anything is possible. And, with that spirit I want to reach out to you all. To express, a huge ‘thank you’ for being a part of my journey so far, for your wishes and prayers. They have seen me through the toughest climb of my life. And a big thank you, to the brand Livogen and its team for being so supportive throughout. Thanks to you guys I could maintain the strength in my blood which made my climb less difficult.

There is strength in unity, they say. I understand it with a different perspective now. If we unite in quest of achieving our dreams, we will be stronger than before. I urge you all, to share, to express, and I will reach out to you.

We all have dreams and together we might be closer to getting there. It is a beautiful world, ask me, I stood on top of it! And we must share our worlds – and learn how to love, communicate and be kind.

So, while I sign off from here, I will be eagerly awaiting your response.

Yours truly,

Vikas Dimri
